Immune System

Here are a few of my top immunity tips. 

  • Sleep. Sleep. Sleep. It is the most potent immunity tool that we have. 

  • Have restful, peaceful activities in your week. A meditation practice. A yoga class. A walk. Time with an animal. Time to read an uplifting story. Journaling. Etc.

  • An attitude of gratitude. 

  • Trust in your body's capacity to heal. 

  • Cut down your sugar intake. It compromises the immune system. Sugar can curb immune system cells that attack bacteria. Stevia or monk fruit extra are great alternatives to look for at your local health food store. Fruit is nature's candy!

  • High-quality medicinal herbs. I love "Comprehensive Immune Support" from Paul Stamet's high integrity company Host Defense.

  • Chaga mushrooms are adaptogenic and boost immunity. You can make a tea with it or consume it through a tincture or capsule. 

  • Garlic! In its raw form, cooked or an extract. 

  • Ginger! It has incredible immune-boosting benefits. It's also warming when your body is battling things that could cause aches or chills. 

  • Vitamin D - Even ten minutes can make a big difference. Vitamin D deficiency is associated with increased susceptibility to infection. No sunlight available? Try a suppliment (though nothing beats the real deal. Try getting some naked sun time when you can!)
